Who We Are?

The Maulana Azad Foundation for Education and Social Amity (MAFESA) is founded by Husnara Salim, grand-niece of “Bharat Ratna” Shri Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in Kolkata. Under her patronage, this organization is involved in various necessary educational and social activities based on improving the quality of life and the human condition such as giving top priority to the primary and secondary educational activities of children till the age of 14. It is also involved in training the underprivileged and exploited women in skilled labor in order to make them self-sufficient, self-reliant, technologically competent so that they can be economically independent. At the same time, the visions of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad as a secular leader and his remarkable contribution towards education and also the introduction of various educational institutions and cultural organizations are highly focused on and brought forth by holding seminars, plays, cultural events, and conferences.
